Some thoughts from Jude, our Haitian photographer and marketing team member on consistency.
The other day I was walking to work. And I was really frustrated because I couldn’t find a tap-tap. The roads were blocked. I said to myself “here we go again.” Then as I kept going, I saw a lady who sells shoes, ( the machann pèpè) laying her shoes out on the ground, ready to sell them. I was shocked. I was like I can’t believe she is putting herself in danger like this. I even went as far as to say this is insane. And then immediately this word popped up in my head: “consistency”.
What I have come to realize is that consistency doesn’t only mean faithfulness. Consistency gets discouraged sometimes but she gets back up again. Consistency always has a plan. She has responsibilities. No matter what is going on she focuses on what she can do now. She’s patient with the process. She’s patient in the process. Consistency doesn’t have it all together. However she is willing to learn day by day. Consistency in good things gives hope. And hope, that’s what keeps us alive. Not just alive but thriving
