Jude SimonJude Simon Jude Simon is our resident photographer. Many people ask how we get such great pictures of daily life in our company. This is how. Jude works with us part time while also building his own photography business. WeDo Photography in Gonaives. We love the way he captures the beauty of our city and our company. He is sneaky, and does tend to always show up clicking away whenever a dance party randomly breaks out in the studio! He has a huge heart for God and for his country. We’re ...

EMERGENCY FUNDWhere there are no social services or insurance, a medical emergency or death in the family can put a family into a downward spiral that is nearly impossible to get out of. Often times families borrow the money they need and then get caught in the cycle of payments to very high interest rates. So they may not be able to eat well for months or even be able to put the kids back in school until it is paid back. And everything they’ve been building for can be lost over one event. One of our staff h...
ChristellaChristella is married and has two children: a young son and daughter. Her husband is a fisherman and goes out to fish through the night. It helps, but it is not enough. They live in a tiny house built up on stilts that has just enough room for one bed, period. The floor is sketchy, to say the least. She pulled me over one day to see it. She was aggravated because her young daughter was being bothered at night by critters that would come in through the holes in the floor. She was upset and de...
Christine GenadaChristine Genada is a force in and of herself! Christine officially joined 2nd Story Goods early in 2018 as one of our Bookkeepers. She has an amazing capacity to keep intricate records of all of the daily cash transactions that happen on site. We say she leaves “no Gourde left behind!” Another big part of her job is paying people each week. We use this opportunity to let people know that their hard work means alot to the company and Christine is great at delivering that message along with...
ChristiannaChristianna has a Hilarious sense of humor and she loves to dance ! She is really the most talented of all our Angel makers…combining the skills of the others in her guild, she puts the final pieces together and makes them shine. Her great thrill this year was paying off all her debts with the money she earned and is now keeping her kids in school, has built a fence around her yard and is starting her own vegetable garden. Her little boys are hilarious like their mom, always quick with a...
DeenaDeena is a big sister and a new mom. She has recently joined the group and she makes the Swazo…the Bird. I love the way she mixes colors together to create new patterns . She often brings her younger sister along to work to learn the skill that she has. She is one of the more quiet young women, but is always quick with a smile and a thank you when payday comes at the end of the week.
Austinwe call him 450 because.. well its a long story.. but now we all want nicknames
